Welcome to Family Church!

"We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the

glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done."

Psalm 78:4

Opening Song (Led by Caleb & April)

"Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

  1. Great is thy faithfulness, O God, my Father;
    There is no shadow of turning with thee.
    Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
    As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.

Refrain:
Great is thy faithfulness,
Great is thy faithfulness,
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed thy hand hast provided;
Great is thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me.

2. Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. [Refrain]

3. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine and ten thousand beside. [Refrain]

Call to Worship (Sally)

Come, let us incline our ears and open our hearts,

that we may remember and proclaim the glorious deeds of the Lord.

Let us tell of His power and the wonders He has done—

not just for ourselves, but for our children and all who follow.

We gather today not to keep these truths hidden,

but to joyfully declare them to the next generation!

Responsive Reading:

Leader: We will not hide God's truth.

People: We will tell of His glorious deeds!

Leader: From one generation to the next—

People: We will praise the Lord together!

Worship Song

"Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing"

1 Come, thou Fount of every blessing;
tune my heart to sing thy grace;
streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
sung by flaming tongues above;
praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
mount of God’s unchanging love!

2 Here I raise my Ebenezer;
hither by thy help I’m come;
and I hope, by thy good pleasure,
safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
wandering from the fold of God;
he, to rescue me from danger,
interposed his precious blood.

3 O to grace how great a debtor
daily I’m constrained to be!
Let that grace now, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here’s my heart; O take and seal it;
seal it for thy courts above.

Scripture Reading (Clair)

Psalm 78:1–8

1 Give ear, O my people, to my law:

Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2 I will open my mouth in a parable:

I will utter dark sayings of old:

3 Which we have heard and known,

And our fathers have told us.

4 We will not hide them from their children,

Shewing to the generation to come

The praises of the LORD, and his strength,

And his wonderful works that he hath done.

5 For he established a testimony in Jacob,

And appointed a law in Israel,

Which he commanded our fathers,

That they should make them known to their children:

6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which

should be born;

Who should arise and declare them to their children:

7 That they might set their hope in God,

And not forget the works of God,

But keep his commandments:

8 And might not be as their fathers,

A stubborn and rebellious generation;

A generation that set not their heart aright,

And whose spirit was not stedfast with God.

Worship Song

"How Deep the Father’s Love for Us"

How deep the Father's love for us How vast beyond all measure That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure How great the pain of searing loss The Father turns His face away As wounds which mar the Chosen One Bring many sons to glory Behold the man upon a cross My sin upon His shoulders Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished His dying breath has brought me life I know that it is finished I will not boast in anything No gifts, no power, no wisdom But I will boast in Jesus Christ His death and resurrection Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer But this I know with all my heart His wounds have paid my ransom

New Testament Reading (Curtis)

2 Timothy 1:3-9

3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without

ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; 4 Greatly desiring to

see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 5 When I call to

remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother

Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. 6 Wherefore I put

thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting

on of my hands. 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of

love, and of a sound mind. 8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our

Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel

according to the power of God; 9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy

calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which

was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Special Song (Cita and Dad)

Prayer (Clif)

“A Prayer for Generational Faithfulness”

Heavenly Father,

You are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—

the God of our fathers and mothers,

the One who has shown steadfast love through every generation.

We thank You for Your mighty works and Your faithfulness to Your people.

Help us not only to remember but to proclaim,

not only to receive but to pass on.

Give us courage to speak Your truth,

wisdom to live it out,

and love to teach it well.

May our children, and their children,

know You, love You, and walk in Your ways.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Devotional (Caleb)

Psalm 78:1–8

Response Song

In Christ Alone

[Verse 1]
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here, in the love of Christ, I stand

[Verse 2]
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross, as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin, on Him, was laid
Here, in the death of Christ, I live

[Verse 3]
There in the ground, His body lay
Light of the world, by darkness, slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave, He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

[Verse 4]
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of Hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Til He returns or calls me home
Here, in the power of Christ, I'll stand

Benediction (Clif)

May the God who has been faithful in every generation

empower you to carry His story forward.

May you speak His truth, live His love,

and walk in His Spirit,

so that the coming generation may know, trust, and praise the Lord.

Amen.
